Team Building Matching

Don’t start alone. Build your team and grow together.

Woosong University supports international students who want to start a business in Korea by helping them connect with potential teammates and collaborators.
Through team building and matching support, students can develop ideas together, share roles, and prepare for real startup projects.

What is Team Building / Matching?

One of the biggest challenges for international students who want to start a business in Korea is finding the right people to work with.

The Team Building / Matching program helps international students connect with Korean students, other international students, aspiring entrepreneurs, mentors, and potential collaborators.

It is designed to support the formation of startup teams that can develop ideas together, divide responsibilities, and move toward real execution.

Why is Team Building Important?

A startup cannot be built on a good idea alone.
Market research, customer interviews, pitching, prototyping, marketing, and financial planning all require different skills and roles.

For international students in particular, language barriers, cultural differences, limited networks, and lack of information can make it difficult to prepare alone.
Team Building / Matching helps reduce these barriers and gives students the opportunity to find reliable partners to learn and build with.

What We Support

  • ① Startup Team Formation
    • We help participants form teams based on shared interests, startup ideas, and complementary strengths.
  • ② Matching Korean and International Students
    • We provide opportunities for collaboration between Korean students and international students to improve market understanding, communication, field research, and execution.
  • ③ Idea-Based Collaboration
    • Students can participate even if they only have an idea at an early stage.
They can meet potential teammates or collaborators who can help refine and develop the idea.
  • ④ Connection to Follow-Up Programs
    • After team formation, participants can be connected to other startup support programs such as education, mentoring, Startup Living Lab, Pre-CEO Program, prototype support, and startup competitions.

Who Should Join?

  • International students who have a startup idea but no team yet
  • International students who want to work with Korean students who understand the local market
  • Korean students who want to collaborate with international students on global startup ideas
  • Students who want to build a startup project with teammates from diverse backgrounds and majors
  • Participants who want to form a team for startup clubs, competitions, or hands-on startup programs

How It Works

Team Building / Matching generally follows this process:

1
Application
2
Interest and Skill Review
3
Networking / Matching
4
Team Formation
5
Connection to Follow-Up Programs

Participants can be matched based on their interests, strengths, preferred roles, and whether they already have a startup idea.
The program may be operated through orientation sessions, networking events, team-building workshops, startup camps, or extracurricular programs.

Expected Outcomes

Through Team Building / Matching, international students can move beyond preparing alone and more quickly form a startup team that is ready to act.
By working with Korean students and other collaborators, participants can improve their understanding of the Korean market, strengthen communication and teamwork, and develop more creative and practical startup ideas through diverse perspectives.

"Team Building / Matching is more than simply introducing people to one another."
It is the starting point for building a startup team that can learn together, work together, and grow together.
Woosong University will continue to support international students and Korean students in building collaborative startup teams and connecting them to follow-up opportunities for further development.
